My name is Maura. Im a nursing major at SCC. I was born in Sacramento and then my family and I moved to Plymouth which is about an hour away from Sacramento. People call it a “mini Napa” just because there’s about 45 wineries within two miles. Fun fact I enjoy spending time with family and my cousins and i love to drink wine and go wine tasting. But not everything my life is perfect and happiness , almost about three years ago i lost my aunt which she was more like my mom figure from breast cancer. Ever since then my life has been harsh just because she was everything to me. I admired her I would do anything for her and vice versa. At that time I was enrolled in a math class over summer and i would keep telling myself to keep going to class to finish strong, but with all grief its very hard to continue your normal life after i lost my mom. In the end, I finished the course which I’m very proud of and I know my mom would be too. I know that many of us say you will heal, and I know it will take time to heal because I’m still in the process.
